How does laser nail treatment work?
Our doctors use a Q-Switched NdYAG laser which is one of the most advanced dermatological lasers currently available. The Q-Clear™ Laser is FDA approved and shown to be safe and effective. In just billionths of a second, impulses of high power laser energy pass through the nail to the nail bed so nail fungus is treated at its root. Change in the nail will begin to occur as the nail grows out, with complete regrowth of the nail in 6 to 12 months.
Is the procedure painful?
Most people do not feel any pain whatsoever. Some patients may experience slight warmth or a mild sensation during the procedure. No anesthesia is required. You may resume all normal activities immediately
How long does the procedure take?
Depending upon how many nails need are treated, the procedure usually takes between 10 and 30 minutes.
Do all nails respond to laser treatment?
As will all medical procedures, a 100% guarantee is not possible. Most nails do show improvement within 12 months.
Can I polish my nails or have a pedicure?
It is important to remove all nail polish prior to your treatment. If nail polish is desired after treatment, the use of a special anti-fungal nail polish is recommended. Our office can provide recommendations.
Is the laser treatment covered by my health insurance?
Laser nail treatments are not covered by any health insurance plan.
How much does laser treatment cost?
The cost varies depending on the number of nails treated. The treatment for the initial nail is $295 and each additional nail is $100. If more than 5 nails require treatment, a discounted fee will be offered. After 6 months, if your doctor determines a second laser treatment may be beneficial, it will be performed at no additional charge.
